The Parks and Recreation Department manages the Tullahoma Urban Forestry Program who, with the assistance of a City Forester, an Advisory Tree Board, and Parks and Recreation's grounds crew, develops, administers and oversees Tullahoma's trees on city property and right-of-way.

 

Tullahoma's Urban Forestry Program involves tree planting and maintenance, and community outreach through technical and educational assistance.

The City Forester also administers the Tree Board Award Program, the City Memorial Tree Program, and maintains Tullahoma's Tree City USA designation by the Arbor Day Foundation.

Tullahoma Tree Board

The Tullahoma Tree Board was established to maintain, protect, and enhance the urban forest of Tullahoma for both present and future generations, and serves as a resource and an advocate to the government and to its citizens through education and actions.

 

The Board consists of seven members appointed by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, the City Forester, Staff liaison, Utilities liaison, and a Mayoral-appointed Alderman liaison. A term lasts two years, though there is no maximum length of continuous service on the Board.

 

Board meetings are quarterly on the 3rd Wednesday of January, April, July and October at City Hall.
